Incredible day, with two incredible artists.
A hugely renowned Japanese artist, Master Isao Takahata co-founder of Studio Ghibli, and American animator Tom Bancroft – Disney.
A concert dedicated to Takahata’s latest masterpiece “Kaguya-Hime no Monogatari” with a reduced formation, string quartet, harp and a young voice who sang the main theme tearing a few tears from the spectators present.
The songs played by the orchestra for Tom Bancroft, an American animator and one of Disney’s most prominent animators and character designers on such masterpieces as Mulan, Pocahontas, and Brother Bear, were indeed Mulan and The Little Mermaid.
